Demanovska valley and ski resort Jasna (distance: cca 18km)
The ski resort of Jasna is the biggest and most popular in Slovakia. It offers excellent conditions for skiing, snowboarding, U – ramp, cross-country skiing and alpine skiing. There are 28 km of ski slopes, a ski & snowboard school, with ski hire available. For more information click:
Ski resort - Opalisko - Zavazna Poruba (distance: cca 8km - link)
This ski resort is situated near the village of Zavazna Poruba. Its 5 ski slopes, 4 ski lifts, ski school, ski service and ski hire and cross country skiing track provide excellent value for money.
Ski resort - Javorovica - Liptovsky Jan (distance: cca 8km - link)
This ski resort is located in the Jan valley. It has 6 ski slopes, 4 ski lifts and a ski school. It is a great place for beginners as well as good skiers.
Ski resort - Dolinky - Ziar (distance: cca 12km - link)
The resort of Ziar – Dolinky is located at the end of the village of Ziar. There are 2 ski lifts in use, with 2 ski slopes, one of which has artificial snow.

Aquapark TATRALANDIA (distance: cca 2km - link)
Aquapark Tatralandia is the biggest all year round fun and relaxation centre in Slovakia.
It offers 9 thermal swimming pools – 6 of which are open all year round, with healing mineral water (2 indoor swimming pools), which have a water temperature of 24-39 °C., 21 water slides (4 open all year); all guaranteeing great fun.
Thermal spa Besenova (distance: cca 15km - link)
This luxury spa complex is built on an area of therapeutic hot mineral water springs. The spa contains six pools, which are open all year.
The spa claims to have a therapeutic effect that helps relieve respiratory conditions and urinary problems as well as being beneficial for skin rejuvenation.
Mineral water pools Liptovsky Jan (distance: cca 12km - link)
This complex of mineral water pools is located south of the village of Liptovsky Jan. It is said that the warm mineral water has therapeutic effect on the joints, digestive system and promotes overall relaxation. The complex is open during the summer season from Tuesday to Sunday 9.00 – 21.00.
Liptovska Mara (distance: cca 2km - link)
Liptovská Mara is a water-dam in the middle of the Liptov region. Enjoy ‘water madness’ – surfing, yachting, water skiing, water bikes and boating. Do not miss the sight - seeing boat trip – it takes approximately 1 hour.
Extreme / adrenaline sports
Offroad Arena Bobrovec (distance: cca 1km - link)
Enjoy the ride on quad bikes (atv) on the track or in open country in the biggest and the most visited off road track in the Liptov. The Off Road Arena is situated just 1 km from our cottage the direction of Liptovsky Mikulas.
Rafting, river cruises, canoeing (distance: cca 3km - link)
Enjoy the tranquillity of the water while sight seeing the surrounding scenery. The River Vah is less demanding and is suitable for families with children. For those looking for some more excitement and adrenalin, there is white water rafting on the Bela River. (not undertaken all year round, only in the spring months of April and May, following on from the melting snow.)
Kart Centre Liptov (distance: cca 3km - link)
The Kart Centre is located in the town of Liptovsky Mikulas, Paludzka. The ride on the 350m-long track has a duration time of 8 minutes. Possibility to book whole place for one hour.
Paintball (distance: cca 5km - link)
Paintball is an exciting high-adrenalin game. You have the chance to play this dynamic modern game in the resort, with a choice of two playgrounds.
Hiking
Prosiecka and Kvacianska Valley (distance: cca 10km - link)
This is a relatively easy track for hiking, with a medium rise to Prosecne. The path is one of the most favourite in Liptov. On the 3,5 km route, there are a great number of beauty spots, high rock walls, waterfalls and interesting mountain flora, as well as many varieties of forest growth.
Jasna, Dumbier – the highest peak of the Low Tatras (distance: cca 18km)
This is a beautiful mountain walk. It is possible to enjoy the view from a chairlift.
Caves
Demanovska Cave of Freedom (distance: cca 18km - link)
This is the most popular cave in Slovakia. The cave is located in the Demanovska valley. The Demanovska Cave of Freedom has a unique system of tunnels, underground halls and cathedrals, decorated with rich stalactites. In the cave you can admire stalagmites, stalactites, stone-falls, cave lakes with pearls, the chasm of the parachutist, a cave waterfall with a 60 m drop and the cave organ.
Demanovska Ice Cave (distance: cca 18km - link)
This is located on the right side of the Demanovska valley, on the north side of the Low Tatras. The length of the known parts of the cave is 1975 m with a level difference of 57 m. The ice is located in the lower parts of the cave, mostly in Kmet Cathedral with its ice floor, ice columns, stalactites and stalagmites.

Liptovsky Mikulas
Liptovsky Mikulas (distance: cca 3km - link)
Liptovsky Mikulas sits on the river Vah, in the heart of the Liptovska fold, approximately 3 km from Bobrovec. The town is surrounded by the West Tatras to the north, and the Low Tatras to the south. Liptovsky Mikulas is a county town with great historical importance.
